Welcome to the Department of Horticulture and Crop Production

Department of Horticulture and Crop Production is one of the three Departments of the school of Agriculture and Technology (SOAT). The main aim of the Department is to train students to possess in-depth knowledge and technical skills in the areas of sustainable crop production for the benefit of the country. Students are also equipped with practical knowledge such that after the programme, they can easily identify their various fields of interest and specialization, and venture into farming as a business.

Currently the Department runs the following programmes,

  • Diploma in General Agriculture
  • Sc. Agriculture with options (Crop production and Horticulture)

At the graduate level, the Department runs Master of Science (M.Sc.), Master of Philosophy (M. Phil.) and Doctorate degrees (Ph.D.) with specialization in Agronomy, Postharvest Technology, Crop Protection and Plant Pathology
